GABF Beer Names 2020 Winners

We drink and review a pale ale from Grand Teton Brewing (Victor, ID) called Sweetgrass (6% ABV). We also drink and review an fruited sour ale called Sunset Sherbet (4.2% ABV) brewed by Moonraker Brewing Company (Auburn, CA).

We give medals to the 2020 Great American Beer Fest medal winners with the best names. It's our first year doing this and we will make it traditional from here on out.

We also discuss Guinness 0.0, Breckenridge Brewery's 30th birthday offer, Week 8 of the NFL season, and our daughters' Halloween costumes.

GABF 2020 Winners. Winter Beers Are Coming!

We drink and review Logistics (Mosaic) (6.5% ABV), a New England IPA brewed by Pueblo Vida (Tucson, AZ). We also drink and review Icelandic Dopplebock (6.7% ABV) brewed by Einstök Olgerö.

We go over some of the medal winners at the 2020 Great American Beer Festival, concentrating on Arizona & California breweries and popular categories. We also name some of the more entertaining beer names.

We drink and review an American IPA called Palomino IPA (6.5% ABV) brewed by Dragoon Brewing Company (Tucson, AZ). We also drink and review a bourbon barrel-aged pumpkin porter brewed by Avery Brewing Company (Boulder, CO) called PUMP[KY]N (15% ABV), which has been aging since 2015.

Our special guest this week is The Engineer. She is married to co-host Sorcerer Chromatic. She talks about their first date, which was during SF Beer Week, her favorite SF Bay Area Brewery, and how our show has evolved.

Sorcerer Chromatic wore this week's Cöld Brüe List emphasizing 300. We discuss AB-InBev's new ploy to take over craft beer. We discuss the NFL first-year coaches, and much more in out 300th episode spectacular!

Half Acre's Lager Town & Epidemic Ales' Schwarzhammer

We drink and review Half Acre Beer Company's (Chicago, IL) Oktoberfest beer, a märzen called Lager Town (6% ABV). We also drink another Oktoberfest beer from Epidemic Ales (Concord, CA), which is a dark lager called Schwarzhammer (5% ABV).

We discuss LA County's restrictions which banned on-premises consumption on breweries with taprooms but no kitchen...which got lifted after we recorded. (face palm). We also discuss Five Octoberfest beer worth trying this year, if you can find them.

We drink and review a double New England-style IPA called Haze of the Dead (8.5% ABV) brewed by DESTIHL Brewery (Normal, IL). We also drink and review and American IPA brewed by Strike Brewing Company (San Jose, CA) called Pine Tar Incident (7% ABV).

We list the top ten song by Tupac. What a farce! We also urge to you vote...for the next Voodoo Ranger. Greg tries a Munich Dunkel from Biff's Brewing (Goodyear, AZ), brewed by home brewer Matt Hines. Finally, we discuss the injury riddled week 2 of the NFL.
